Welcome to the Murdon Legacy (version 4.0: Planet Zar), a game which combines roleplaying and cyberpetting in such ways that have never been seen before. Originally opened in November of 2005 as a simple role-play optional adoption, the Legacy has been expanded to include several new species, plots, environments, and ways of interacting with members and other characters. New places and playable races can be unlocked throughout the in character experience, making the Murdon Legacy one of the most extensive, character driven roleplays on the internet.
Our Setting[/u]
- The Murdon Legacy takes place on a small moon adjacent to an alien planet. Izarn, the moon, is naturally dissimilar from earth, containing a much higher oxygen percentage that has caused the life to flourish in abundance. While the flora and fauna are all distinctly alien (there are no earth animals on Izarn), one could compare many of them to facsimiles of prehistoric beasts.
- Izarn is similar to steampunk pre-victorian era. There are some steam-powered transportation devices, helium filled air ships, primitive guns such as flintlock pistols and muskets, phonographs, and telegraphs. There are no computers, iPods, motorized vehicles, battery powered devices, or machine guns.
- The sentient races of Izarn reside in seven small provinces located on the main continent: Anygh, the industrial giant. Balada, the technology defiant jungle. Eneis, the peaceful desert. Orhon, badlands and safe haven to those ostracized from society. Sultherem, the unfriendly coastal community. Turacha, the bloodthirsty tundra. And Terra, an attempt to recreate the main species' original home, Earth.
Our Plot
- The Murdon Legacy does not have just one large plot. Just as in the real world there are multiple large conflicts occurring all the time, and a single person is capable of causing a ripple that can affect their city, their province, or even the world and beyond! The Murdon Legacy is a primarily character driven role-play, with most current events and plots stemming from in-character actions only. What starts out as a small, personal mission can quickly turn into something that rumbles over hundreds of characters, across borders and oceans.
But no world with history and developed culture is a blank slate. There are several large, international conflicts that play a part in the current events of Izarn.
