lesson: lighting now, let's move on to lighting. lighting is a pretty important aspect to consider when creating a manip, and that all includes choosing the right stock, adjusting lighting accordingly, etc.
there are many ways to darken one side of an image, leaving the other side normal (or brighter), but i find that the best way is to use the Gradient Tool. so i'd like you to make one side of this stock image darker using the method i mentioned in the previous critique thread, and post it back here. i'm only going to ask you to do this once, since this is a really easy thing to do.

again, take your time with this, and feel free to post more examples of this lesson, as well as the cutting/smudging fur lesson if you want an expert opinion. (;
just be sure to post the work in the correct thread. (:

Alright. The gradient tool seemed so simple that... I'm going to assume that I did it completely wrong right off the bat. >.>
Field Stock Image 1
It literally took about 30 seconds or less and I feel like I've cheated the image now. X3
Also, sorry about the lateness. Computer died then I had to work up enough muse to even open PS for a few days. I thought it would be a bit more than that (and I may still be right >.> )

looks good, though i think you shouldn't drag the black too far otherwise it sort of 'taints' the side of the image which needs to be left untouched. other than that minor detail, you've got the hang of it ! (:
so,, there's really nothing else that i think you need to learn. however, is there anything you'd like to specifically learn from me ? you can check out some of my work here if you see a certain aspect which you would like to cover.
if not, then i truly think that you're pretty well skilled and experienced.

Actually, there is one little thing I would like to know. x3 - How to properly change eye colour! - I've been doing it with a paint brush on Hue or Colour, but is there a way to do this differently/better? It never comes out how I hoped.
