I don't know much about Photoshop, but I figured that this board needed a post so what I can do is teach someone how to create scan lines on your image. ^.^
Your finished image should look like this:
You can play around with different lines, directions and colours until you find the perfect one.
Note: you can also change the colour of the scan lines you created in the image by right clicking your pattern fill layer, selecting Blending Options and then selecting 'Colour Overlay'. Choose your colour from the colour index and ta da!
This is a simple tutorial meant for beginners in Photoshop. When I learned about this, I thought it was wonderful so I imagine other beginners will too. X3
- Start a New Project that is transparent and only 3x3px.
- Zoom in as far as you can on your 3x3px document and select your pencil tool. Be sure the size of the pencil tip is only 1px.
- Select your colour and mark three places on your document. You can go straight across but I'm going to show you what the diagonal would look like. Your image should now look like this (while zoomed in all the way):
- Go to Edit > Define Pattern and then save your image as something similar to "Diagonal Scan Lines".
- Now open the image you want to place your scan lines on. I'm going to use this lovely image of Fall in Vermont.
- Open a new layer on the image you want to use and press CTRL + Backspace while your new layer is selected. It should bring up your Fill Patterns. Select the scan lines you created and press 'OK' - It should look something like this:
- While still selected on your pattern layer, click on the area highlighted in blue on this photo and scroll down to overlay, select.
Your finished image should look like this:
You can play around with different lines, directions and colours until you find the perfect one.
